Steven Naismith has named THREE key areas he wants from his Hearts side against Hibs.
The Jambos play host to their Edinburgh rivals under the lights at Tynecastle as they look to bounce back from their long unbeaten run coming to an end. They headed for Ibrox to face Rangers in an excellent run of form but suffered a 5-0 mauling from Philippe Clement's table toppers on an afternoon to forget.
But that game has now been put to bed with all focus on Nick Montgomery and Hibs. Naismith knows his troops sit in an excellent position in third spot with an 11 point gap over nearest rivals Kilmarnock in fourth. He wants to kick-start another run of form and results starting with the derby showdown in Gorgie on Wednesday night. And in order to do just that, he has listed what his side ultimately need to produce to grab the bragging rights and all three points.
He said: “It was disappointing because we lost 5-0. The goals we conceded were as poor as they’ve been all season. The lesson is that we need to be competitive when it’s 0-0, rather than lose a poor goal so quickly.
"We’ve had a good run of form and we were up against the best team in the league at the moment. Like every game, we look back at it and the things we need to work on in review as we try to improve ourselves. We know the game tomorrow will be a different type of match.
“It’s a big game, and the positive is that you’ve got a game so quickly after a defeat to get back on to a winning feeling. And hopefully start another good run like what we did previously. So far until this point it has been a good season, we are in a comfortable position in third and it’s about continuing on that progress.
