Mikel Arteta told reporters that they would have to ask Jurgen Klopp personally why he made his recent plea for a greater atmosphere inside Anfield for Liverpool's match against Arsenal on Saturday.
A debate was sent snowballing after last Sunday's 0-0 draw with Manchester United as to why the crowd seemed flat for such a big occasion. The Reds then responded with a 5-1 cup win at home to West Ham three days later, but still Klopp was not impressed with the effort of some sections of support.
"I thought in the first half when the boys played really exceptionally. It was a long time ago now, but I have to say I was not overly happy with the atmosphere behind me. I asked people what do they want?" he said.
"If I was in the stands I would be on my toes, 1000 percent. I don't know if the Manchester United game was that bad that we have to say sorry we didn't smash them."

The boss then made his plea as his side will "need Anfield on Saturday" for the top-of-the-table meeting with the Gunners. Laying down a strong parting statement, he said: "If you are not in the right shape, give your ticket to somebody else."
Whether this was a genuine feeling or more on the side of mind games from Klopp remain unknown. As a fellow manager and his next opponent in the dugout Arteta was asked his opinion, though ultimately passed the baton back to the Liverpool boss, who speaks to the media at 1:30pm on Friday.
