Tottenham missed out on a glorious opportunity to strengthen their top-four push following a 2-1 home defeat against Wolves.
Following last weekend's win over Brighton, Ange Postecoglou made four changes to his Tottenham team to take on the West Midlands side. Emerson Royal, Ben Davies, Yves Bissouma and Son Heung-min all came back into the XI as they replaced Pedro Porro, Destiny Udogie, Rodrigo Bentancur and Timo Werner.
Struggling to make an impact early on, it was Wolves who had the better of the chances as Guglielmo Vicario was forced into a couple of saves. The visitors then took the lead in the 42nd minute as Joao Gomes met Pablo Sarabia's corner to head the ball into the far corner of the net.
Wolves weren't in the lead for long, however, as Dejan Kulusevski restored parity seconds after the restart following some good footwork and a very good finish from a tight angle. With Spurs looking the most likely to score the next goal, Wolves went ahead again as they broke quickly and Gomes netted his second to seal the win for Gary O'Neil's team.
Here is how we rated the Tottenham players in the Premier League game against Wolves:
Guglielmo Vicario
Produced a very good save from Nelson Semedo inside the opening six minutes of the contest and then denied Rayan Ait-Nouri. Little he could do about Joao Gomes' header that found the top corner but denied Pablo Sarabia with a superb save just before the hour mark. Didn't deserve to be on the losing team. 8
