Ever since arriving at Liverpool more than eight years ago, Jurgen Klopp has always been willing to give youth an opportunity to impress.
Indeed, on his first day in charge back in October 2015 he was spotted at the Academy in Kirkby taking in an under-18s game.
That ethos has continued throughout his reign, with the move of the first-team squad to their AXA Training Centre on the same site as the youngsters in late 2020 opening the door for further chances. Academy players are regularly spotted training with Klopp's senior side.

This season's Europa League campaign had already seen Ben Doak and Jarell Quansah start and goalkeepers Viteslav Jaros and Fabian Mrozek named among those on the bench. And in the open training session ahead of the following day's Group E match at home to French side Toulouse offered a further demonstration of Academy involvement in the competition.
Although Doak was absent injured, Quansah and teenage left-backs Luke Chambers, who made his debut as a late substitute in the League Cup win against Leicester City in September, and Calum Scanlon, who was on the bench in the Merseyside derby, were among those being put through their paces.
But the real intrigue came with the involvement of Trey Nyoni, a midfielder who only turned 16 in June and was signed in August from Leicester.
While Nyoni isn't eligible to feature in the Europa League group stages, that he was involved with the first team - and a session that had the first 15 minutes broadcast live - was recognition of the swift progress he has already made with the Reds.
