Guglielmo Vicario believes this Tottenham squad have the desire to do «something special» under Ange Postecoglou and the goalkeeper is loving playing in the Australian's system.
The 27-year-old has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water this season and has played in every minute in the competition as Postecoglou builds a very different looking Spurs side for the future. Vicario has played a big part in Tottenham's rise to fourth place in the table and he feels something good is being constructed within the north London club.
«I know we've missed some trophies in the past and we have this desire to do something special under Ange. I think we can learn a lot but we have to stay focused and listen to him and try to make something special for Spurs,» he said in an interview with Peter Crouch for TNT Sports.
When asked whether Tottenham are aiming for a top four spot or higher, he said: «We have to be focused on game by game and win every game we face and then at the end we can see what we can achieve. Now I think it's too early to say something about the end of the season. We have to try to do our best to win every game, to give respect to the opponents but not be scared to play the teams that are in better positions than us. Then we'll see at the end of the season because we want to do something special.»
While he did not play with his feet that much at Empoli, Tottenham and Postecoglou had the belief that with Hugo Lloris looking to move on, Vicario had the ability with both his hands and feet to become the club's new long-term main goalkeeper between the sticks.
