What Tottenham did for Lucas Bergvall's brother as club makes classy decision after transfer

Theo Bergvall, the brother of new Tottenham signing Lucas, has already benefited from his sibling's big move to the Premier League club.

Last month 18-year-old midfielder Lucas agreed a switch to Spurs over a move to Barcelona and Bergvall will join up with Ange Postecoglou's side on July 1 from Swedish club Djurgarden. As part of the £8.6million transfer for the teenager, the Allsvenskan outfit will formalise a partnership with Tottenham which will see youngsters heading in both directions as well as a friendly match being played in the coming years between the two clubs.

Djurgarden sporting director Bosse Andersson was recently at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to watch Spurs beat Crystal Palace in the Premier League in chairmanDaniel Levy's suite and also visited the club's Hotspur Way training complex to meet with various members of staff.

The 55-year-old has revealed since that as part of the growing relationship between the clubs, Tottenham offered assistance when asked by Djurgarden after Lucas' older brother Theo, a 19-year-old right-back, suffered an injury and the Swedish club were not satisfied with a medical report that got back on the problem.

«It is true that Tottenham stepped in and offered us specialist help with Theo Bergvall when we asked the question,» Andersson said to Swedish media outlet FotbollDirekt.

Djurgarden physio Kalle Barrling added: «It’s true that Tottenham opened doors very quickly to a specialist clinic when we asked the question. We were not really satisfied with the opinions we received [initially] and therefore contacted Tottenham who quickly offered help. We called and Tottenham then made sure that we didn’t have to wait.»
