Gabriel Martinelli missed out in Arsenal's crucial Premier League clash against Brentford having been taken off injured five days earlier at Sheffield United. The Brazilian scored the third goal at Bramall Lane in a thumping 6-0 win.
He was taken off 20 minutes into the second half in Yorkshire though. Having gone down initially when taking a shot on the edge of the box, he only lasted a short period before needing to be replaced.
Martinelli was helped off the field by two physios as he struggled to walk in the aftermath of a collision with a Blades defender charging down a shot. Mikel Arteta had been hopeful that he would be fit enough to feature in the game on Saturday.
«We had Martinelli and Bukayo [Saka] with little issues,» he explained before the match. «We're pretty positive that hopefully they can be part of that. But we'll have to see how they feel.»

Saka, who was subbed at half-time having felt ill, did recover in time to start in north London. Martinelli was not as fortunate, and a tweet from the club explained, «Gabriel Martinelli misses out on today's squad due to the foot issue sustained at Sheffield United.»
The Gunners take on Porto in a vital Champions League second-leg tie on Tuesday. Martinelli's absence here now puts his place in the squad for that game in doubt.
Arteta was able to name Oleksandr Zinchenko on the bench for the first time since his long injury lay off. Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey, and Fabio Vieira all made it as well having returned on Monday.
