Mikel Arteta has confirmed his Arsenal starting XI for their Premier League clash with Burnley at Turf Moor.
The Spaniard had said that he was hopeful that a few players could make their return after missing last week's 6-0 win over West Ham. Emile Smith Rowe is the only one to make a comeback after being sidelined with an ankle issue for the defeat at the London Stadium. The England international is among the subs for Arsenal.
Takehiro Tomiyasu, Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira and Thomas Partey all miss out however. Arteta is also without long-term absentee Jurrien Timber.
The Spaniard names an unchanged starting XI as a result. That means that Leandro Trossard continues in the side up front, with Kai Havertz behind him in midfield.
Eddie Nketiah meanwhile remains among the subs despite Jesus' absence. The England international has not started since the New Year's Eve defeat to Fulham.
Jakub Kiwior is also in the side at left back again. The Polish international has struggled in the position but performed well last week, with Ben White inverting into midfield.
Youngsters James Sweet and Mauro Bandeira make up a thin looking Arsenal bench. There is no space for Ethan Nwaneri after the 16-year-old was thrown on for his second first team appearance in the closing stages at the London Stadium.
Arsenal confirmed starting XI vs Burnley — Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior; Rice, Odegaard, Havertz; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli.
Subs: Ramsdale, Cedric, Sweet, Bandeira, Elneny, Jorginho, Nelson, Smith Rowe, Nketiah.
