Burger business closes due to 'impossible' rising costs

Independent food joint Poppin' Burgers has closed due to overwhelming costs.

Located in The Excelsior on Dale Street, the business served up beef burgers, chicken burgers, loaded fries and salt and pepper specials.

Poppin' Burgers owner Hollie Wilson shared a lengthy statement online, detailing the closure of the business. The former NHS worker admitted rising costs made it "impossible" to continue trading before thanking the community and The Excelsior for their support.

Hollie said: "I was hoping to be posting today with better news but unfortunately, that’s not the case. It’s time for me to close the kitchen doors for good. The way the cost of living is and the rising costs make it impossible for small businesses like me to make a living. I’ve tried everything in my power to keep things going but it’s just not possible anymore. I hope you all understand this difficult decision I’ve had to make.

"I also just want to thank every single person for your custom over the last year you have all made it so worthwhile. I loved getting to know you and I’ve made some really great friends. Next, I want to say a huge thank you to the @excelsior_liverpool staff, your support has meant so much to me and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity you gave me.

Hollie added: "And my last thankyou goes to Jade at @jzm_socials. I’ve loved working with you and you made my life so much easier, you’re a diamond. If you need a social media manager get in contact with Jade she’s fab at what she does. Keep poppin’ and much love to you all."
