Chelsea got the better of Brighton and have settled some scores after a campaign of controversy with their pre-season opponents in America.
It has been quite the roller-coaster ride between the clubs and the public comments from either side over players of interest only heightened the stakes on this intriguing friendly. It came days after Chelsea got off to the perfect start under Pochettino, beating League Two Wrexham 5-0, but this was another step up.
