BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg have seen one of the most prominent fan groups reiterate their position against the running of the club, setting the group a damning ultimatum less than a year since taking over. Having been purchased in June 2023 by the consortium that bought Chelsea 12 months earlier, the French outfit have — much like their English counterparts — struggled.
Headed by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital,the ownership group made Strasbourg the first of what is planned to be a large multi-club model spanning leagues across the world. However, the money being pumped into the club is yet to bring any tangible reward and Patrick Vieira's side are now just three points above the relegation play-off spots.
After winning three of their opening six games, as well as drawing another, Strasbourg have only managed 16 points in the 18 matches since and are currently at the centre of a large battle to beat the drop. Although Vieira's men are 12th (out of 18) they are just six points above the automatic relegation spots.
BlueCo have consistently been warned and protested against by the supporters since their arrival last year, but the latest statement from prominent group Ultra Boys 90, has taken things up a notch yet again. In a letter released on Wednesday, March 6, that stance was made as clear as ever, with a call to change their plans or leave the club.
