Eden Hazard reveals he's not sure he would have wanted to play for Pep Guardiola

Eden Hazard has revealed that he isn't so sure he would like to have played under Pep Guardiola due to the Manchester City boss' infamously high demands on his charges.

Hazard had a storied career at Chelsea, scoring 110 goals and assisting 92 more in 352 games in west London across a seven-year stint, becoming one of the most lethal forwards in the game.

He later left for Real Madrid in 2019, although he struggled to make his mark in the Spanish capital, with reports suggesting the player arrived lacking fitness, with injuries later ruining his career.

He then later announced his retirement earlier this season, the former Belgium captain calling time on a long career at the top.

Hazard appeared on John Obi Mikel's Obi One Podcast, where he revealed that he was not entirely convinced that he would want to play under Guardiola - regarded the best of all time by many - as he believes he might not exactly see eye-to-eye with the ex-Barca boss.

Former Chelsea team-mate Mikel was full of praise for Guardiola, but when the question was posed whether the Belgian would have wanted to play for the Spaniard, he remained unconvinced their methods would have aligned.

'I don't know,' Hazard responded. 'This guy demands a lot, but for me as a player I like my freedom. If you ask me to stay there I'm not gonna stay there.

'I think he's the best in the world, but I don't know. Give me the freedom and I'll win games!'

Mikel then jokes that Hazard was not the best of trainers at Chelsea, adding: 'He doesn't like training. He turns up, his boots aren't done and he just (stands around).

'But he's Hazard - he turns up on Saturday and the goals he's scored! It shows the talent of the guy.'
