Should Gaston Sirino be called up for the Bafana Bafanasquad?
The Uruguayan is officially eligible to play for the country and has expressed his interest in representing South Africabefore.
As noted by iDiski Times, Sirino has now received his South African ID, making him eligible to be called up by Hugo Broos.
Despite being born in Uruguay, Sirino became eligible after fulfilling FIFA’s criteria.
FIFA’s regulations state that a player can represent another country if they have lived in the country for five years after the age of 18, Forbesnoted.

FootballSirino stated that he would love to represent the country, speaking highly of it, Goal reported.
Broos has already named his squad for Bafana’s friendlies against Namibia and DR Congo but will have to select a team for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
However, Sirino’s age could be a big determining factor, as the Sundowns man is 32 already. Broos has been focused on bringing in more talented youngsters into the fold.
He also hasn’t played any games for Sundowns this season and, therefore, is short of game time.
