Jamie Carragher has sarcastically called for a replay of Tottenham vs Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp remarkably expressed his views once more following the most controversial match of the season. Audio from Stockley Park and between the officials at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was released on Tuesday night and has amplified the debate over video referees and how justice can be done.
Liverpool, who were wrongly denied a goal shortly after being reduced to 10-men on Saturday evening, have made their stance clear after issuing a demand for the audio and Klopp, who launched an assault on the decision making process throughout the 2-1 win for Spurs has doubled down in his approach.
«As far as I can remember, something like that never happened, that's why I think a replay should be played,»the German said ahead of Liverpool's Europa League clash with Union Saint-Gilloise on Thursday. They didn't do it on purpose and we shouldn't forget that.
«Yes, it was a mistake. An obvious mistake. I think there would have been solutions. I think the outcome should be a replay. Probably won't happen.»
It comes after the first publicly accepted offside decision made by VAR since it's introduction into the Premier League in 2019.It has led to a debate over what can be done in hindsight following the game hence the raised prospect of a replay to Klopp.
Carragher, who called out the PGMOL via social media on Saturday, has now jokingly responded to his Sky Sports colleague Gary Neville. Neville himself was issuing his thoughts on Klopp's replay claims.
