Gleison Bremer has admitted that he would like to play in the Premier League one day. The 26-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea the summer before last, but he decided to join Juventus instead.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Bremer revealed that he enjoyed watching David Luiz and Vincent Kompany in the English top-flight before noting La Liga as another 'very entertaining' competition. The Brazil international said: «I have a couple of role models in England playing at centre-back.
»I watched David Luiz at Chelsea, a Premier League winner and a Champions League winner. But also Vincent Kompany in all the years he played at Manchester City. I like La Liga and the Premier League.
«But the Premier League is a very exciting championship and I watch a lot of matches and they are very entertaining. One day I would like to play in the Premier League but right now I am focused on Juventus and winning trophies with them.»
Bremer has completed 90 minutes in all but one of Juventus' 12 Serie A clashes this season, helping Massimiliano Allegri's side keep eight clean sheets. His impressive performances have led the Old Lady to within touching distance of top-spot as they look to reclaim the Scudetto from Napoli.
While the Brazilian would be a welcomed addition to the Chelsea roster, Mauricio Pochettino already has a wealth of centre-backs at his disposal. With Thiago Silva and Axel Disasi preferred at the heart of defence, Levi Colwill has often been shifted to left-back – not to mention Benoit Badiashile, who has recently returned from injury, Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah, who are both yet to even feature this term.
