Liverpool FC Supporters Union Spirit of Shankly (SOS) say they "totally oppose" the proposed changes to the Premier League fixture schedule after the Football Supporters' Association (FSA) lamented the "shocking idea".
This week, The Telegraph reported that the English top-flight could see weekends become filled with action. As many as four new TV kick-off times have been suggested for Sunday - which currently has two games televised.
An extra 50 Premier League matches could be sold to broadcasters with times ranging from 12pm to 6pm at the end of the week, according to the claim. The reported move would also see a potential move for the Women's Super League (WSL) to Saturday 3pm, which is a blackout slot for the English top-flight.
It is not the first time that SOS have expressed their feelings surrounding the fixture schedule and changes, as a result of the broadcasting rights. In 2019, Liverpool were forced to travel to Leicester City, a six-hour round-trip, for an 8pm kick-off on Boxing Day.

The current TV deal is due to expire in 2025 and the Premier League could sell broadcasting rights on four-year deals for the first time, having previously secured deals for three.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Spirit of Shankly tweeted: "(SOS) note with concern that a new schedule of kick-off times proposed under the upcoming @premierleague TV deal includes later times over weekends.
"We totally oppose this and will be linking with other trusts to take necessary action to ensure football remains for match going fans."
