'We should not forget' - Jurgen Klopp responds to FSG investment after Liverpool suffered 'massive financial blow'
Jurgen Klopp has shared his delight at owners FSG securing minority investment in Liverpool Football Club.
It was confirmed on Thursday that New York-based sports investment firm Dynasty Equity, have taken a small minority position in the club, in a deal understood to be worth between $100m and $200m, with the move designed to clear the club’s bank debt and not to fund transfer market activity.
It had been confirmed last November that FSG were looking for new investors, with it resulting in speculation regarding their long-term plans at Anfield. However, the Reds’ American owners never had any intention to sell the club, with there no change in operational control following Dynasty Equity’s investment.

But while such incoming funds won’t be used to bolster what Klopp has to spend in the transfer market, the German was pleased to see new investment come into the club.
"Absolutely (I’m pleased). That’s how it is, I can understand the people," he told reporters. "Money in football is all about spending. I get that, I am part of it as well. In moments, I want to spend money as well.
"But in this moment in time, we should not forget, we built in recent years, we are now building a new stand which will improve, I’m not sure how that will happen, but improve the best atmosphere in the world anyway. Then we built another stand, the Main Stand. We built a training ground, we bought Melwood back.
