Liverpool have been dealt a double blow in their reported pursuit of Benfica duo Antonio Silva and Joao Neves.
As the latest talents to come through at the club this year, both have allegedly gained a number of high-profile suitors from around the continent as their performances have helped Benfica lead the way in Liga Portugal.
However adding to rumours of incredible release clauses in their contracts, manager Roger Schmidt has moved to shut down all speculation ahead of the January transfer window.
Another manager that has spoken out is Manchester City's Pep Guardiola. His side claimed a 2-0 win in the Premier League on Saturday and in the immediate aftermath was asked about the title race.
Whilst hoping his squad can rally in the second half of the campaign, the Spaniard admitted that Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool deserved to lead the way as things stand.
