When you don’t get much fortune, try and make your own luck. Rasmus Hojlund has been given a tough job at 20 years old and he didn’t ask for Atalanta to put up a £72million price tag.
The service he has been given at Manchester United this season has been nothing short of dire. Antony has not assisted all season and not since April.
Marcus Rashford looks a shadow of the 30-goal striker of last term while Alejandro Garnacho is younger than Hojlund himself. The Dane is yet to score in 14 Premier League games and illness this week did not help him prepare for West Ham.

He hardly got a sniff at the London Stadium on Saturday, taking just 17 touches before being replaced 10 minutes after the break. A lack of service hasn't helped but Hojlund himself has at times looked quite one dimensional. The only time he has been seen sprinting clear of the defence is when he ran in from the left before lobbing home deftly against Galatasaray at Old Trafford.
He has scored against Bayern Munich and away in Copenhagen in the Champions League but is yet to find his feet in the league. Rarely have we seen Hojlund drop deep, make a wide run or shoot from distance.
Erik ten Hag bemoaned the lack of funds he had last January and is set to be equally frustrated this time around. United chiefs have already outlined how they are not expecting much activity next month due to Financial Fair Play worries.
Such concerns were present in the summer, when United spent an additional £180m after last year’s £225m splurge. Everton’s 10-point deduction will only make United cling to their purse strings tighter.
