Arsenal confirmed team news vs Chelsea as Saliba, Saka, Martinelli and Jorginho all start
Arsenal have made a few changes to their team that will face Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, including a huge boost in a return for Bukayo Saka. The youngster joins the likes ofWilliam Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli and Jorginho that are set to take to the pitch at Stamford Bridge.
David Raya keeps his place in goal, while Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko make up the defence surrounding Saliba and his return from a toe injury that kept him out of the France national team squad.Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard are joined by Jorginho in midfield — who makes his return to Chelsea, but means there's no place for Kai Havertz to do the same in the starting lineup.
Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Saka complete the side with the deadly trio often causing problems for the opposition last season, but injuries have stopped them linking up as much this season. There are a couple of absences within the squad to be addressed though.
Aaron Ramsdale is the first as the club confirmed that the goalkeeper will miss the clash through the birth of his new child. A statement said: «Aaron Ramsdale misses out on today’s squad after his wife Georgina gave birth to a baby boy. Congratulations both.»
Fabio Vieira is another that doesn't feature in the squad to face the Blues, though it currently remains to be seen if that is due to injury or purely team selection. There will be hope for Mikel Arteta that the team he has named will do enough to earn all three points from their London rivals.
