'Have the b**** to' - Rio Ferdinand's major prediction for Sir Jim Ratcliffe at Manchester United

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has tipped Sir Jim Ratcliffe to 'flush out' some of the people who have been mainstays at Old Trafford to refresh the club.

Last year, United announced Ratcliffe would be acquiring a minority stake in the Reds. With this purchase, INEOS would be handed the reins of the football side of the club with the Glazers taking a back seat in this department.

Ratcliffe has wasted no time implementing changes at the Theatre of Dreams. In November, before his official arrival, Richard Arnold departed as CEO and this past weekend Manchester City's head of football operations Omar Berrada was appointed as his replacement.

MEN Sport understands John Murtough will be replaced as director of football with Dan Ashworth INEOS' prime choice for the role while Paul Mitchell has also been linked. Discussing INEOS on his Vibe with Five podcast, Ferdinand is confident more changes are in the offing.

"This geezer [Ratcliffe] has built a multi-million dollar company so he knows what he is on about," he explained. "These guys [INEOS] are not listening to anyone.

"They have built companies, they have rebuilt British cycling and won Olympic gold after Olympic gold. They know how to create a culture, they know how to create a winning mentality in different industries, I wanna see how this plays out with these guys.

"I think there are difficult conversations to be had and people to be flushed out of the club. Those which others before found difficult [to get rid of] and wouldn’t do, didn’t have the b**** to do it."
