Liverpool could be set to receive a transfer boost after an update emerged on reported target Federico Chiesa.
The Juventus forward has been linked with a move to Anfield in previous transfer windows. The initial rumours began in 2021 after Chiesa helped Italy win the European Championships with a victory over England in the final at Wembley Stadium.
Since then, various rumours have emerged tentatively claiming that Liverpool could be in the race to sign Chiesa at some point. Reports last summer claimed that the Reds were showing an interest in signing Chiesa, who is contracted to Juventus until 2025.

And now, according to the Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, the 26-year-old's future in Turin is uncertain as talks over a contract extension have yet to materialise.
The report states that Juventus and Chiesa's representatives have met to discuss a new contract, with the player now entering the final 18 months of his deal. However, the negotiations are "far from simple" due to Chiesa's current wage demands of a €5 million (£4.3 million) annual salary as well as the recent form of Kenan Yildiz, who plays a similar role to him.
As a result, it has been claimed that Juventus could "say goodbye" to Chiesa in the summer, regardless of whether or not he signs a new deal in the coming months. Should this happen, then Liverpool may be mentioned as a potential suitor once again.
