Luke Littler has confessed he felt more nerves throwing darts against his Manchester United heroes than he did in the Ally Pally world final.
The 17-year-old is a huge United fan and was invited to visit their Carrington training ground after his stunning run in the World Championship.
Littler met legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson and current manager Erik ten Hag, as well as all the players, with Alejandro Garnacho presenting him with a United shirt.
He then took on Harry Maguire and Christian Eriksen on the oche, with the United players posting scores of 171 and 136 respectively from their nine darts thrown.
But 'The Nuke' confidently stepped up and hit a 180 maximum with his first three darts to blow them away, sparking scenes of jubilation amongst the watching United players.
Speaking exclusively to Mail Sport, Littler said: 'It was good to see most of the lads, who were fit and who were training.
'I spoke to Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire. Most of the other guys was a handshake and they said "well done". Then I spoke to Erik and he said "it's nice weather" even though it was raining!
'But it was just crazy to meet them and to play against Harry and Christian, that was good fun and I actually felt more nerves in front of them that I did at Ally Pally.'
Littler, who hails from Warrington, shot to fame last month when he reached the World Darts Championship final, losing 7-4 to Luke Humphries.
His performances won him a spot on the 2024 Premier League Darts tour and he'll make his debut - once again facing Humphreys in the quarter-final - in Cardiff on Thursday night.
The eight-strong field also features Gerwyn Price, Michael van Gerwen, Michael Smith, Peter Wright, Rob Cross and Nathan Aspinall.
