Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League thanks to their 2-0 win over Burnley on Boxing Day.
It could've been a knockout for the Reds, who peppered James Trafford's goal throughout and had two goals questionably ruled out. Darwin Nunez's early strike in the first half opened the scoring before Diogo Jota slotted through former Manchester City prospect Trafford's legs late on to rubber-stamp the points at Turf Moor.
The victory moved Liverpool two points clear of Arsenal, who don't play until tomorrow (December 28) against West Ham United, and three ahead of Aston Villa, who relinquished a two-goal lead in losing 3-2 to Manchester United against Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur, in fourth, are now six points behind the Reds, but will look to close the gap when they travel to Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow, while fifth-placed Manchester City, fresh from winning the FIFA Club World Cup, have two games in hand to claw back the eight-point gap to the summit, the first of which comes at Everton tonight (December 27).
