Northern Ireland’s Jamal Lewis says it was a ‘special feeling’ seeing Windsor Park rocking again during the shock 2-0 victory over Denmark and is hoping for more of the same moving forward.
Lewis was one of many stars to deliver a big performance on Monday night as Michael O’Neill’s team ended a dismal Euro 2024 qualifying campaign with a flourish.
Defensively, the Newcastle United ace – on loan at Watford – was solid in his role at wing-back, while in attack, he caused the Danes problems, starting the brilliant move that led to Isaac Price’s opening goal on the hour prior to a late strike from Dion Charles which sealed the deal and a morale-boosting victory, as well as the country’s first points in Group H outside of wins over bottom side San Marino.

The atmosphere inside a packed Windsor was electric in the second half, bringing back memories of O’Neill’s successful spell in charge first time around.
