James Maddison has been impressed by Ange Postecoglou's methods and comments since joining the club from Leicester and he has now sent an emphatic response to his manager
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou that it is important people don't focus too much on his chosen line-ups thus far in pre-season. Spurs saw their friendly on Sunday against Leicester City called off due to a waterlogged pitch with the Lilywhites now next in action on Wednesday when they face Lion City Sailors.
However as seen in open training sessions, the Spurs stars have been playing out eleven-a-side games which perfectly explains why Postecoglou brought 31 on the Asia-Pacific pre-season tour. More often than not it's been quite clear that one team is stronger than the other which drops a rather obvious hint at Postecoglou's starting XI for that game.
"A lot of it is down to where they are physically, and making sure that with us putting out two elevens out there that both teams have enough in the tank. It's not about me selecting players based on who I think's going to play."
Some players appear to have emerged as Postecoglou favourites already with Yves Bissouma receiving hefty praise, while Cristian Romero and James Maddison were in line to start both games of pre-season thus far. Maddison joined the club from Leicester this summer in a deal worth £40million and looks set for an advanced eight role in Postecoglou's flowing 4-3-3 system.
