An FFP punishment verdict for Manchester City was not included in the Premier League's announcement on Monday which revealed two clubs were in breach. Everton and Nottingham Forest have both been found in breach of profit and sustainability regulations (PSR) which could see them each handed a points deduction.
In November, the Toffees were docked 10 points for overstepping the £105million loss threshold over a rolling three-year period after their case was referred to an Independent Regulatory Commission last year. As a result, Sean Dyche's side slid down the Premier League table, but their impressive form saw them nearly immediately move out of the relegation zone.
However, they could face further punishment with the Premier League revealing on Monday both Everton and Nottingham Forest had admitted they were in breach of PSR rules. «Everton FC and Nottingham Forest FC have each confirmed to the Premier League that they are in breach of the League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). This is as a result of sustaining losses above the permitted thresholds for the assessment period ending Season 2022/23.
»In accordance with Premier League Rules, both cases have now been referred to the chair of the Judicial Panel, who will appoint separate Commissions to determine the appropriate sanction.
