Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool will not be the only major managerial exit at the end of the 2023/24 season following a shock announcement over the weekend. On Friday,Klopp shocked the footballing world by revealing he would be departing his position at Anfield at the conclusion of the current campaign after nine years at the club.
Former midfielder and current Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso is the firm frontrunner to succeed Klopp while Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi and Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann have also been mooted as other options. For one of those to take over from Klopp, it would require them to depart a club, however just over 24 hours after Klopp's announcement, it was surprisingly revealed Barcelona would also be after a new manager.
