Dundee aren’t worried about the possibility of Liverpool recalling Owen Beck from his loan stint with the Scottish club despite Andy Robertson’s recent shoulder injury.
The Scotland captain is set for three months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery, having dislocated his shoulder during the international break following a coming-together with Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon.
Kostas Tsimikas started at left-back in Saturday’s Merseyside derby win over Everton in the absence of the Scot, with both Luis Diaz and Joe Gomez lining up in the position during the second half. Meanwhile, teenager Calum Scanlon was named on the bench against the Blues, while Luke Chambers was namechecked by Jurgen Klopp as a potential alternative last week.
“Thank god it is not only Kostas we have for that, because for the amount of games we have, we would already be a bit short,” the German said. “We have Joe Gomez who can play the position. We have Luke Chambers and other young boys who show up in training quite frequently.

“So we have them now in the international break training weeks, until yesterday when the other boys were not in yet. You see the boys, the young kids really showing up and it is good. There is a lot of talent in there so you need options. That’s clear.
“Kostas is definitely the most experienced in the position. That’s good, but he cannot play all the games from now on so we need other options as well. That’s what we have to make sure, that we can use all of them.”
Beyond Tsimikas, Beck is the next most experienced natural left-back on Liverpool’s books.
