Daniel Farke has already made it crystal clear that Leeds United are working behind the scenes to sign Joe Rodon on a permanent basis from Tottenham. It's no surprise either, given his sublime form at Elland Road since his temporary switch from Spurs at the beginning of August.
Following their relegation from the Premier League in May, the West Yorkshire club are in a strong position to return to the top flight at the first time of asking. Rodon has had a major role to play in their current lofty position in the league after delivering outstanding performances week in, week out for his new club.
Leicester City, barring an almighty collapse over the next few months, are firmly on course to seal one of the two automatic spots, with Ipswich Town, Southampton and Leeds then in a three-way battle for the other automatic position. Leeds will be hoping to avoid the play-offs and instead secure promotion via the top two as the end of season shootout has not been kind to them in the past.
It really has been the perfect loan move for all parties, with Tottenham set to profit come the end of the season. The Lilywhites have had some horrible luck with loan moves in the past but the same cannot be said about the deal involving the Wales international.
Just not in Ange Postecoglou's plans and given the green light to depart ahead of the season, it was always going to be a huge year for the player with a permanent Tottenham exit to come. The 26-year-old has displayed the kind of form that saw Spurs sign him in the first place from Swansea City in October 2020 and that will have only increased the interest in his services in the process.
Not only that, the player's price tag will have grown as a result of his performances for Leeds.
