Liverpool are reportedly facing a transfer battle with Manchester City to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich.
According to SportBILD's Christian Falk, the Premier League's top two sides are interested in the German midfielder. The 28-year-old's future at the Allianz Arena has come under scrutiny in recent weeks as manager Thomas Tuchel looks to strengthen his midfield ranks.
In a tweet, the German reporter wrote: "True. Liverpool and Manchester City are interested in Joshua Kimmich @FCBayern (28, contract til 2025) for Summer #EnglischeWoche."
City boss Pep Guardiola has previously worked with Kimmich following his successful spell with Bayern after signing him from RB Leipzig. Kimmich featured 36 times under the Spaniard after being handed his Bundesliga debut in 2015.

Liverpool have emerged as a possible destination for Kimmich and are said to have registered an interest in the German international, who has one year remaining on his current deal. The Reds previously delved into the Säbener Straße ranks last summer as they ended Ryan Gravenberch's disappointing spell in the Bundesliga.
Kimmich has made 13 appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayern this season and has previously been seen as a key member of the squad. However, in recent months, his future has come under speculation after the former Chelsea boss expressed his desire for a robust number six.
