United must act on tragedy chanting
The largest official travelling Kop for a game against Manchester United at Old Trafford was ultimately left disappointed by what happened on the pitch.
But they probably weren’t overly surprised by the actions of an audible minority among the home supporters, who had already started tragedy chanting a good 15 minutes before this FA Cup quarter-final had even started. It became a regular feature throughout the match, particularly when United were behind.
This fixture between the bitter North West rivals has long been marred by such actions from both Liverpool and United supporters, although the latter have become the far more guilty party during the last decade.

The Football Association swiftly condemned the chants. Now United as a club need to step up and own the actions of their supporters, not least with the teams meeting again here in the Premier League in three weeks. After all, there were no such incidents during Liverpool’s recent game against Manchester City after a concerted effort to ease tensions by both clubs.
If the result left a sour taste for Reds supporters, it was nothing compared to what they heard. But maybe it’s not so much a case of people not being able to change, more that they choose not to.
Nunez rightly absolved
Darwin Nunez has spent much of this season answering questions. There was one, though, that remained.
