Tottenham fans must enjoy Ange Postecoglou while they can with Manchester City potentially looking at him to succeed Pep Guardiola.
That is the verdict from Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville, who has been blown away by Postecoglou in his first few months in the Premier League.
Tottenham beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 on Friday night at the City Ground with goals from Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski.
But it was the manner of the victory that wooed Neville, who believes City might be looking at Postecoglou as a potential successor to Guardiola.
Neville said on Sky Sports: “We’ve seen managers say that they need time to implement their style at a football club or time to get used to the players.
“What he’s done in such a short period of time is quite staggering because he’s not only implemented what could be an idea of play, he’s put something in place that is breathtaking to watch and actually is quite complex when you see it from a football point of view.
“You think of players, to get them in positions and to be like clockwork, it doesn’t just take months and 40 or 50 matches, it can take two or three seasons.
“You see Pep Guardiola in that first season at Man City – it was difficult for him to get exactly what he wanted to across and now that he has, it’s unbelievable.
“For Ange Postecoglou, the way that they’re playing and the football that they’re playing, he is amazing.
“Spurs fans won’t like this but if you’re Man City losing Pep Guardiola in a year or two you’re looking at Ange Postecoglou and thinking ‘wow, that’s exactly what we want to see’.
«I've been pleased with the progress and I think there's just so much more to come»
