The Grand National weights have been announced ahead of the world-famous race at Aintree.
King George VI Chase hero Hewick has been handed top weight of 11st12lb of the remaining 87 entries in the 2024 £1million Randox Grand National at Aintree Racecourse on April 13 – and he could bid for an audacious Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup-Grand National double.
Meanwhile, last year's Aintree hero, the Lucinda Russell-trained Corach Rambler, will carry 11st2lb in his bid to become the 10th dual winner of the world's greatest steeplechase in just over seven weeks time.

The weights – framed again for a fifth year by the British Horseracing Authority’s senior Jump handicapper, Martin Greenwood – were revealed at the traditional lunch at St George’s Hall in Liverpool city centre today were trainers, owners, racing personalities and some of Merseyside's well-known faces gathered.
And it was Shark Hanlon's nine-year-old – who won the Grade One King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day – who will carry top weight. First though he will have a crack at the Gold Cup at next month's Cheltenham Festival for which he is a best-priced 16-1. Hewick is a general 33-1 for the Grand National, for which he was also entered at this stage 12 months ago before pulling out through injury.
Trainer Hanlon admitted Hewick “probably deserves” to be given top weight as he bids to become the first horse for 90 years – since Golden Miller in 1934 – to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Grand National in the same season.
Hanlon said: “I knew he’d have top weight. You have to expect that. He probably deserves top weight. I think the trip will suit him. He’s going for the Gold Cup first and please God he comes out of the
