Liverpool have yet to make a move in the January transfer window - but the club is quietly planning for the future.
Indeed, the Reds recruitment team will be busy preparing plans for the summer window and they will only make a move this month if a player they are planning as a long-term signing becomes available.
They bought Cody Gakpo in 2023, and the Dutchman scored seven goals in 26 games to emerge as a crucial player in the second half of the year. They also signed Virgil van Dijk for a club record £75million in previous years.
