The Reds withstood a late Fulham charge after Issa Diop equalised Luis Diaz’s early opener to secure a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage in their semi-final second leg and progress 3-2 on aggregate on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool will now face Chelsea at Wembley on February 25 in a rerun of the final of two years ago, which the Reds won on penalties.

And Klopp was delighted with the manner in which his team, missing seven regular starters, matched the Cottagers’ commitment to continue challenging on four fronts.
“I heard Marco Silva’s press conference before the game and he was saying it’s the most important game of the season for them,” said the Liverpool boss. “I told the boys I know what it means to us, but we have to show it to the outside world that we want it as much as they do. And I saw that.
“It was just a good cup game. Anyone who expected we would turn up and show our quality and it would be a walk in the park doesn’t understand the game and doesn’t understand the importance of the occasion. Both teams really wanted to go to Wembley. We qualified, that’s all we could wish for.
“But we all know it’s Chelsea and they probably want to put history right after playing us twice two years ago (and losing in both cup finals).”
