Kostas Tsimikas says he is targeting "more success" after signing a long-term Liverpool contract on Monday as he talked up the potential of the new-look squad.
The Greek defender, who joined in the summer of 2020, was part of the team that won the League and FA Cups in 2022 as he famously scored the winning spot-kick in the latter's shootout triumph over Chelsea at Wembley.
Tsimikas has made 63 appearances since joining from Olympiacos in his homeland over three years ago and he says he is keen to be a part of what is to come under Jurgen Klopp in the coming years after extending his stay on Merseyside.
“I feel very glad to be here to extend my contract. I feel like all the sacrifices I did and other things, the work I put in, [that] everything pays off," Tsimikas said.

“But this keeps me fully motivated for the rest. As I’ve said in many, many interviews, this team has many, many things to achieve all together and I wanted to be from the first minute a part of it."
In an interview with Liverpoolfc.com, Tsimikas added: “[I'm targeting] more success, more work and more trophies.
"For me it is the most important thing, to win trophies, to be committed in every situation, to be part of all of this.
“I think this team has very big potential to win more trophies and we will go for it. Everybody, I think, is 100% there [and] focused for the next games and everybody is ready to achieve big things in the future.”
Tsimikas could be set to start when the Reds host Leicester City in the League Cup on Wednesday evening.Read on liverpoolecho.co.uk
