Mauricio Pochettino delivered some mixed Chelsea injury news on Friday ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester City. The Blues have been plagued by key absences throughout the 2023/24 season, and despite a number of marquee returns arriving, muscular issues continue to affect Pochettino's squad.
Earlier this week, during the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, Thiago Silva was withdrawn with Levi Colwill, on the way back from his own injury, coming on in his place. Fellow defender Malo Gusto was also taken off as a precaution, however Pochettino has confirmed he is available to face City.
Elsewhere, Pochettino revealed a fresh injury blow before giving some excellent news on an injured player expected to be named in his first matchday squad in over two months. Updates on Romeo Lavia and Marc Cucurella have also emerged.
